ST Telemedia Invests SGD 4.17 Billion to Expand India Data Centres

ST Telemedia has announced a significant investment of SGD 4.17 billion (US$3.2 billion) to expand its data centre capacity in India by 550MW over the next five to six years. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for digital infrastructure driven by increased data consumption and the adoption of AI applications. Currently, ST Telemedia holds about 28% of the Indian data centre market share.

A report highlights the challenges of digital transformation in the APAC region, noting that about 70% of such initiatives fail. Key issues include the complexity of integrating new technologies and a tendency for organizations to focus on short-term strategies. Experts suggest that leadership involvement and a long-term strategic outlook are crucial for successful digital transformation.

23andMe has agreed to pay $30 million to settle a class action lawsuit related to a data breach that exposed the personal information of over 6.9 million customers.
