Researchers have developed a technique called PrintListener that can remotely reconstruct a user’s fingerprint by capturing the sounds made by a finger on a touchscreen. This method raises significant IT security concerns as it could potentially lead to biometric data theft and challenges the reliability of fingerprint authentication systems. The technique has shown the capability to reconstruct partial and complete fingerprints with a certain success rate after multiple attempts.

In Malaysia, the Samsung Galaxy Fit3, a health tracker featuring advanced health monitoring technology in a sleek metal body, is now available for RM299. It offers a wider screen than its predecessor, a 13-day battery life, and a range of health sensors. The Fit3 is water and dust resistant, supports fall detection and emergency SOS, and can serve as a remote control for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
