An entrepreneur in Kuala Lumpur was fined RM80,000 for using unauthorized communications equipment, specifically an ‘SMS Blaster’, which disrupted network and cellular services. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) stated that the individual pleaded guilty to four charges related to the misuse of the equipment at various locations in Kuala Lumpur. The equipment was used to send unsolicited advertisement messages, causing network interference and poor internet service quality.
