This conditional approval is part of the ongoing conflict between Apple and Epic, which began when Apple pulled Epic’s developer license, prompting an EU investigation.

The development and use of AI, particularly large language models (LLMs), are significantly increasing global energy consumption. Data centers, which power AI services, use vast amounts of electricity for computing and cooling. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that data centers, cryptocurrencies, and AI combined used nearly 2% of global electricity in 2022, a figure expected to double by 2026. Major tech firms like Google and Microsoft have seen substantial rises in greenhouse gas emissions due to AI, despite efforts to use renewable energy.

NASCAR introduced an electric vehicle (EV) prototype at the Chicago Street Race, developed in partnership with Swedish firm ABB. The prototype, which features three electric motors and a 78-kWh battery, is not intended to replace traditional stock cars but may lead to high-performance electric racing in the future. The car, tested by NASCAR driver David Ragan, showed promising performance but was slightly slower than traditional racers due to its weight.
