Apple’s 2024 MacBook Air M3 Models: Faster and More Efficient Than Ever

Apple has announced the 2024 MacBook Air models in 13″ and 15″ sizes, featuring the new M3 chip, which is 1.6x faster than the M1 chip. The MacBook Air M3 models support up to two external displays with the lid closed and offer WiFi 6E connectivity. The official Malaysian pricing starts at RM5,199 for the 13″ model and RM6,199 for the 15″ model. The M3 chip includes an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, with options for up to 24GB of unified memory and 2TB of storage. The battery life is up to 18 hours.

X (formerly Twitter), ByteDance, and Booking.com may be designated as gatekeepers under the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), subjecting them to stringent tech rules. The DMA aims to ensure fair competition and prevent gatekeepers from favoring their services over rivals. Companies designated as gatekeepers must comply with specific obligations, such as making messaging apps interoperable and allowing users to uninstall pre-installed apps. The European Commission will decide whether to officially designate these companies as gatekeepers within 45 working days.

Gentari and JomCharge have activated their EV charging stations at Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall, offering two 11kW AC charge points and one 50kW DC charge point at each location. The AC chargers are priced at RM0.10 per minute, with a 50% discount for Gentari Annual Membership holders. The chargers can be activated via JomCharge, Gentari Go, and ChargEV apps, and free WiFi is provided for easy activation.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has updated the Mandatory Standards for Quality of Service (MSQoS) for wireless broadband, setting a minimum average download speed of 7.7Mbps for this year and 10.0Mbps for the next year. This update aims to improve internet service quality in Malaysia. The new standards will be effective from April 1, requiring service providers to ensure these minimum speeds are met.
