ASL Aspire, a startup based in Illinois, aims to improve STEM education for deaf and hard of hearing students through gamification. The company, co-founded by Ayesha Kazi and Mona Jawad, is developing curricula that standardizes STEM vocabulary in American Sign Language (ASL). Launched in 2022, ASL Aspire has already piloted its program in five schools, helping around 200 students. The startup plans to expand its offerings and target more schools, addressing the literacy gap in the deaf community, where many students struggle with STEM subjects.

Apple has announced the upcoming release of “Image Playground,” a new feature in iOS 18.2 that allows users to generate cartoon-like images from text descriptions. This feature is part of Apple Intelligence and can be accessed through a dedicated app or the Messages app. Users can input prompts to create images or upload photos to modify them. The public beta is available now, with a full rollout expected in December.
