DeepSeek’s app has been removed from both Apple’s and Google’s app stores in Italy, following a request from authorities for information about its data handling practices. The Italian DPA has mandated a response from DeepSeek within 20 days.
In another significant data security incident, MGM Resorts International has settled a lawsuit for $45 million due to data breaches affecting 37 million customers. This settlement encompasses two major incidents: a 2019 data breach and a 2023 ransomware attack. Affected individuals may receive tiered payments based on the data compromised, while MGM continues to be investigated by the Federal Trade Commission.
