Although reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered this capability, it’s still in the internal testing phase with no public timeline for release.
In line with improving user experience, Threads is also working on a new display name and cover image feature for profiles. This enhancement aims to align Threads more closely with its primary competitors, X and Bluesky. Having customizable elements like a cover image could give users more personalized control over their profiles.
