Tesla’s plans to launch an “unsupervised” Full Self-Driving (FSD) system and robotaxis by 2025 and 2027, respectively are facing regulatory hurdles, particularly in California. The company lacks the necessary permits for driverless testing and deployment, and may struggle to meet federal safety standards for its robotaxis. This announcement caused Tesla’s stock to drop nearly 10%.

Malaysia Airlines has announced a delay in the delivery of its first Airbus A330neo aircraft, now expected by late November 2024, due to issues identified by Airbus. The airline will continue operating its existing A330-300 fleet without changes to its flight schedule. This delay impacts the airline’s fleet modernization plans, crucial for its growth and service enhancement. Malaysia Airlines is also facing challenges with its Boeing 737-8 aircraft deliveries.

The Caribbean island of Anguilla is benefiting from the AI boom through domain registrations. Controlling the “.ai” internet domain has resulted in a financial windfall, with earnings from domain registration fees quadrupling to $32 million last year, now accounting for 20% of the territory’s government revenue. The government’s deal with a US company to manage the domains is expected to further increase revenue and improve security. Premier Ellis Webster cautioned against relying solely on this income for economic stability.
