International hacker group R00TK1T has announced a temporary halt to its cyberattack campaign against Malaysia’s digital infrastructure. The group claims that this decision comes after intense negotiations, although the details of these negotiations remain undisclosed. R00TK1T had previously targeted various Malaysian organizations, including the Ministry of Education and AMC University College, gaining access to sensitive information. Additionally, the group has issued a warning to Maxis, a telecommunications company, indicating that they should prepare for potential future attacks.
Moving on to another news, Google has recently launched Gemini Advanced in Malaysia. This AI-powered feature is now included in the Google One subscription plan, which is priced at RM 97.99 per month. Previously known as Bard, Gemini Advanced offers users enhanced capabilities in coding, logical reasoning, and creative collaboration, among other features. Subscribers to the plan will also gain access to 2TB of storage, additional Google Photo editing tools, premium Google Workspace features, and more. However, it’s important to note that Gemini Advanced is only available for monthly subscription plans and not for the annual plan.
